Lead Them Home has been privileged to be part of the story of 21-year-old Riley, who has overcome deep depression, isolation, and suicidality. Lead Them Home partnered with other ministries to help this young man build a sustainable support network, find hope, and pursue purpose in Christ.
We recently had the honor of filming and producing his story. We will soon present his story at upcoming Posture Shift seminar events. This short film is powerfully moving and it will serve as an effective tool to help leaders prevent LGBT+ bullying, suicide and homelessness. It will also empower teens and young adults to share their story and obtain effective care from their families and church leaders.
It is understandable that young people like Riley believe that keeping sexual orientation or gender identity private is the safest option. Over many years, though, privacy becomes isolation which produces aloneness and depression and all of this can cascade downward into hopelessness and eventual suicidality. What they need is to trust us enough to step out of isolation into loving support.
God is using Lead Them Home to help save young lives like Riley. We are helping churches do the same.
