Lead Them Home is North America’s leading training and consulting resource for church and ministry leaders on LGBT+ inclusion and care. Our vision is loving LGBT+ people in the Church via our mission: to enhance church inclusion, increase family acceptance, protect against victimization, and nourish faith identity in LGBT+ lives.

“A gospel of exclusion has no power to reflect Christ’s love for people.”

– Bill Henson, Founder and President

  • Guiding Families: Producing resources to guide pastors, parents, an all who care for LGBT+ loved ones

Our Beliefs

Our biblical position on marriage and sexuality and our relational posture for LGBT+ individuals are equally informed and motivated by the heart of Jesus as expressed in God’s Holy Scriptures.

How we engage people is as critical as what we believe.

We aim for the posture of Jesus Christ: to love God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind; and like unto it, to love all people with the same love that we daily receive from God (see Matthew 22:37-39).

In our best attempt to honor God’s holiness, we hold to a traditional biblical belief regarding marriage and sexuality. Simultaneously, we generously extend Christ’s love to LGBT+ loved ones without condition.

There is no room for condemnation or mistreatment of people whom Christ loves.

The Apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 9:21, “I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law.” He continues in verses 22-23, “I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings.”

Our Name

Our name is inspired by the song “Tears of the Saints” by Leeland:

“There are schools full of hatred.
Even churches have forsaken
love and mercy.
There are tears of the saints
for the lost and unsaved.
Father, we will lead them home.

Our name was chosen in 2006 as we embarked on a pioneer mission effort to confront us versus them attitudes. Since that day, we have called upon church leaders and parents to lead (or invite) LGBT+ loved ones home to family, home to church, and home to Jesus.
